Two embezzlement cases in Forsyth Township

FORSYTH TOWNSHIP, MI--   Police are investigating two possible embezzlement cases by Forsyth Township employees. 

Christina Denessen, 43, of Gwinn is charged with embezzlement between $1,000 and $20,000.  She’s accused of taking the money between last July and December while working as a secretary at the Forsyth Township office. 

Denessen has pleaded not guilty to the charge.  A preliminary hearing is set for June 27.

Police are also investigating an individual for possible embezzlement activities in the Township Assessor’s office.  Officials have released no further details in the case. 

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
