Fire destroys boat launch outhouse

ISHPEMING TOWNSHIP - State Police are investigating a recent fire that destroyed an outhouse in Ishpeming Township.

Troopers say the fire took place late on September 2nd or early September 3rd at the ‘Clark Creek’ boat launch on Red Road.

The outhouse was a portable structure adjacent to the launch parking area.

The ‘Upper Peninsula Power Company’ also reported one of their large, informational signs was stolen from the boat launch site during the same period.

The Dead River Campers Association, Inc., is offering a reward for any information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the arson and theft of property.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call state police at 475-9922.
