Meth burning sites becoming more common

MARQUETTE, MI--   Marquette Police are warning residents to stay away from sites where meth labs have been burned.

Last Thursday officers discovered the remnants of a lab in the area of Division Street and Pioneer Road.  They found burned debris in a sand pit, and upon investigation discovered the components of several one-pot meth labs had been torched.

On October 9 a teacher and students from North Star Academy were walking trails near Target when they came upon a smoldering pile of meth debris.

UPSET Certified Meth Responders cleaned up both sites.

Residents are asked to immediately contact police if they find such a site.
