Woman accused of stealing from 93-year-old victim

MARQUETTE, MI--   A Marquette woman has been arrested for stealing from an elderly woman.

City Police say Nicole Rae Beaudette, 34, is charged with larceny of $1,000 or more but less than $20,000 and larceny in a building.

The charges stem from an investigation into gold coins and jewelry reported stolen by the 93-year-old victim.  Beaudette had been taking care of the victim after the woman suffered a medical incident.

Police checked local jewelry and gold-buying stores and discovered Beaudette had sold some of the coins in the area.

Beaudette was lodged in the Marquette County Jail after she turned herself in on the warrants.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
