Heroin arrests made in Sault Ste. Marie

SAULT STE. MARIE--   Three people have been arrested on heroin charges in Sault Ste. Marie.

Officials with the Tri-County Drug Enforcement Task Force say they received a tip that a Florida couple and a Soo man were selling heroin in the area.  Detectives conducted surveillance on a residence and say they purchased heroin from the suspects.

Last Friday officers tried to stop Randall Parks, 20, of Key West and Summer Desport, 19, of Cudjoe Key, Florida, but they fled.  Officers say they dropped packets of heroin as they ran.  The packets were recovered and both suspects were arrested.

Parks is charged with two counts of delivery of heroin, one count of possession of heroin with intent to deliver, and one count of resisting and obstructing, causing injury.

Desport is charged with one count of possession of heroin with intent to deliver, one count of conspiracy to deliver heroin, and one count of resisting and obstructing.

A third suspect, Collin Fawcett of Sault Ste. Marie, was arrested for two counts of delivery of heroin.

All three remain lodged in the Chippewa County Jail.
