Teen arrested for stealing packages from Marquette area porches

MARQUETTE, MI--   A 17-year-old boy from Marquette has been arrested for stealing postal packages from residents’ porches.

Tyler Fish was taken into custody over the weekend on warrants for larceny between $200 and $1,000 and receiving and concealing stolen property between $200 and $1,000.

A 16-year-old boy has also been petitioned into juvenile court in connection with the incidents.

The charges are one-year misdemeanors punishable by up to a year in jail and a $2,000 fine or three times the value of the property taken—whichever is greater.

Residents are reminded not to let packages sit outside for extended periods of time.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
