ESCANABA, MI-- The Delta County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a man for stealing a trailer.
Sunday around 9:30 p.m. a deputy was patrolling on CR 420 near 0.85 Road. The deputy initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle pulling a trailer for an equipment violation.
Investigation revealed the trailer had just been stolen from an Escanaba business. Bolt cutters were also found in the vehicle.
Officers took Jason Couillard, 37, into custody and lodged him at the Delta County Jail for larceny and possession of burglary tools. Bond is set at $20,000.
The trailer was returned to its owner.
