Soo man arrested for asking minors online to have sex with him

SAULT STE. MARIE, MI— A Sault Ste. Marie man is jailed for sexually exploiting children.

An investigation by agents with Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Homeland Security Investigations and local and federal law enforcement led to the arrest of William Brice, 42, on October 3.

In May, a juvenile reported a registered sex offender in North Carolina arranged online for her to have sex with Brice at a local motel when she was 16. Brice allegedly used social media to talk to the victim.

An HSI agent posing as underage girls communicated with Brice, who tried to lure the girls to a hotel for sex.

Brice is charged with causing or allowing child sexually abusive material, three counts of attempting to produce child sexually abusive material, distributing child sexually abusive material, three counts of possessing child sexually abusive material, and accosting a child for immoral purposes.

He’s lodged in the Chippewa County Jail on a $250,000 bond.

A preliminary exam is set for October 21.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
