Jeep stolen from, later found in, Calumet

CALUMET, MI— The Houghton County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the theft of a Jeep in the Village of Calumet.

Saturday at 3 a.m. deputies received a report of a vehicle stolen from a parking lot on the 300 block of 5th Street. It was taken sometime between 12:30 and 2:20 a.m.

Police found the 1985 CJ7 Jeep at 4:50 a.m. on Portland Street near 5th Street.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
