Soo man arrested for aggravated possession of child sexually abusive material

SAULT STE. MARIE, MI— Michigan State Police have arrested a Sault Ste. Marie man in connection with child pornography charges.

Thomas Martin, 30, was taken into custody following an investigation by the MSP Computer Crimes Unit, Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. A search of Martin’s home resulted in the seizure of multiple internet capable devices and evidence. The MSP ICAC Task Force was assisted by the Sault Ste. Marie Post.

Martin was arraigned last week on two counts of aggravated possession of child sexually abusive material. He remains jailed on a $500,000 cash or surety bond.

The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are expected.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
