Marquette man charged with child sex crimes

Forsyth Township Police Department

MARQUETTE, MI— A Marquette County man has been arrested by the Forsyth Township Police Department for child sexually abusive activity.

The arrest followed a lengthy investigation into 26-year-old Brandon Morford’s online activity involving minors. The former Township resident was taken into custody at his Marquette apartment complex Thursday.

He’s charged with child sexually abusive activity, two counts of possession of child sexually abusive material, two-counts of aggravated possession of child sexually abusive material, and one count of prostitution/engaging the services of a minor.

Law enforcement urges parents and guardians to talk to children about safe use of the internet. The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children provides a list of resources on its website, www.missingkids.org.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
