MSP investigating numerous larcenies in Marquette County

NEGAUNEE, MI— Michigan State Police from the Negaunee Post are investigating multiple larcenies that occurred over the past two years across Marquette County.

The incidents happened in Ely Township, Tilden Township, Ishpeming Township, Ishpeming City, and Forsyth Township; however, other unreported incidents may have occurred as well.

The case includes incidents that have been investigated by multiple agencies. Troopers are currently working with the Ishpeming City Police Department, Forsyth Township Police Department, Ishpeming Township Police Department, the Michigan Department of Natural Resources, and the Marquette County Sheriff’s Office.

Items found thus far are: Milwaukee Tools, gasoline, generators, construction equipment (cement, scaffolding), lawnmowers, hand tools, hardware, saw blades, merchandise racks from Dollar General, ladders, trail cameras, a side-by-side Sterlingworth antique shotgun, Remington 8170 12-gauge pump shotgun, a 20 gauge over under EAA Firearm Baikel model, small heaters, propane tanks, jet skis, barn tin/roofing, trailers, and lawn care equipment.

While investigating these incidents, troopers have had numerous people come forward that did not originally report their stolen items. Troopers have been able to recover many of the stolen goods for the victims after they inquired about items police have found.

If you or anyone you know has had property stolen recently from a residence or camp, please reach out to the Negaunee Post at 906-475-9922.
