Suspect in Marquette City Hall gun incident arrested

MARQUETTE, MI— A Marquette man has been arrested for pulling a gun on a civilian and police officers at City Hall two weeks ago.

On Monday, Leon Arnold, 66, was arrested by the Marquette Police Department for carrying a concealed weapon, two counts of felonious assault, resisting and obstructing an officer, two counts of felony firearms and brandishing a firearm in public.

Arnold walked into the lower level of City Hall on January 22nd and asked to speak to an officer. He’s accused of confronting a civilian with a handgun as he waited, then confronting police with the same gun. Officers talked to him for about 90 minutes before he was tackled and disarmed.

Arnold remains lodged in the Marquette County Jail on a $110,000 bond.
