Man arrested in Negaunee for criminal sexual conduct with child under 13

NEGAUNEE, MI— A Marquette County man has been arrested on criminal sexual conduct charges.

In December, the Forsyth Township Police Department initiated an investigation into Andrew Vandevord, 35, on an allegation of CSC with a person under 13. The Marquette County Prosecutor’s Office authorized arrest warrants for 1st-degree CSC and two counts of 2nd-degree CSC.

On Tuesday, Vandevord was arrested by Negaunee City Police at a residence in Negaunee.

He remains lodged in the Marquette County Jail on a $35,000 bond.

A probable cause conference is scheduled for February 29th and a preliminary exam on March 6th in Marquette County District Court.

The Northern Lights Child Advocacy Center assisted in the case.
