Snyder headed to China and Japan

LANSING, MI (AP)--   Governor Rick Snyder plans to leave next week on another economic-development trip to Asia.

The Republican governor tells MLive.com that he looks forward to building on relationships garnered during his first two trips.

Snyder announced plans for the trip to China and Japan earlier this year. He also led trips to the region in 2011 and 2012.

Snyder is expected to market the state's export offerings, promote Michigan as a tourist destination and make a case for investment.

Snyder is expected to join the 11-day trade and investment mission a few days late in order to stay in Lansing to make sure efforts to make more low-income adults eligible for Medicaid wrap up. The House is expected to send legislation to Snyder for his signature.
