New director hired for Dickinson County economic group

IRON MOUNTAIN, MI— The Dickinson Area Economic Development Alliance has a new executive director.

Mindy Meyers previously worked as program director of the Iron Mountain Downtown Development Authority.

The executive director is the administrative officer of the Alliance. She will be responsible to the Board of Directors for such activities as organizational structure and procedures, communications, budget and finance, program activities, and the creation and implementation of the organization’s strategic economic and community development plans.

Meyers has been working with outgoing executive director Lois Ellis for several weeks. The overlap period has allowed Meyers to meet Alliance investors and the existing network of resource partners.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
