MARQUETTE, MI-- Marquette Area Public Schools is setting up a scholarship in honor of an alumnus who died last month.
Shawn Michael Dollar graduated from Marquette Senior High School in 1996, and district officials are now accepting donations in his memory. The first recipients will receive their scholarships at the 2013 MSHS Local Scholarship Ceremony in the spring.
Donations may be sent to 1201 West Fair Avenue, Marquette, Michigan, 49855.
Dollar was reported missing last month. His body was later found in an abandoned building in downtown Marquette on September 14.
