Foundation gives MTU money for professorships, grad students

HOUGHTON, MI--   An alumnus of Michigan Technological University has given the university $1 million.

Dave House gifted the money through the House Family Foundation to endow two professorships—one in Computer Science and the other in Statistics, Data Mining and Data Analysis.  Another $270,000 will fund graduate students assistantships in tech’s new Master of Science in Data Science Program for three years.  They will contribute to the research of the Alliance for Computing, Information and Automation Research Center at the Houghton school.

House earned a BS in Electrical Engineering from Tech in 1965.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
