NMU selected for National LER Accelerator cohort to advance digital credentialing

MARQUETTE, MI— Northern Michigan University has been selected to join the inaugural cohort of the LER Accelerator, a national initiative focused on advancing accessible, interoperable Learning and Employment Record systems.

Officials say as one of only 25 nationwide chosen for participation, NMU’s project will help pioneer innovative approaches to digital credentialing that enhance learner employability, integrate academic and workforce competencies, and align with state and national workforce needs.

The goals of the NMU initiative are enhancing learner mobility, fostering employer engagement, scaling digital credentialing, and advancing the 60-year curriculum model.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
