LANSING, MI (AP)-- Governor Rick Snyder says Michigan residents should vote "yes" on a November ballot proposal to keep the state's emergency manager law on the books and "no" on one requiring voters to approve the building of any new border crossing to Canada.
He just doesn't have the funds to tell that to voters.
Snyder said Tuesday that his office lacks the budget to take on the millions of dollars spent by the Ambassador Bridge operators behind passage of the bridge-related Proposal 6. He says he's also unable to match the money that unions and others have spent against Proposal 1, which would retain the emergency manager law.
Snyder also says voters should vote "no" on the other four ballot proposals that call for changes to the state constitution.
