MARQUETTE, MI— The City of Marquette has changed its election precinct boundaries and polling locations.

State Public Act 227 raised the limit on registered voters in one precinct from 2,999 to 4,999. On December 4th, the Marquette Election Board approved new boundaries for four precincts. This week, the City Commission adopted a resolution establishing election day polling locations for voters in each precinct.

Residents in former Precincts 1 and 3 are now part of Precinct 1, whose polling location is City Hall. Precinct 2 will remain unchanged. Voters in former Precincts 4 and 5 are now part of Precinct 3, whose polling location is the YMCA. And former Precincts 6 and 7 are now Precinct 4, whose polling location is also at the YMCA.

Registered voters whose precincts or polling locations have changed will get a new voter ID card in the mail.
