CRYSTAL FALLS, MI— The Iron/Baraga Conservation District is getting a state water grant.

The Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes and Energy is awarding nearly $100,000 to local governments and nonprofit organizations for stream cleanup and monitoring.

The money comes through the Michigan Clean Water Corps program. It will be used to remove trash and other manmade debris from streams and stream banks.

The Iron/Baraga Conservation District is getting a startup grant of $5,000. It will help volunteer groups get started with learning and planning cleanup activities.
