Two U.P. city leaders leaving their posts

MARQUETTE, MI--   Two U.P. communities are looking for new administrators.

The City of Ishpeming is losing Mayor and City Council member Karl Lehmann, who is moving into his family home in Ishpeming Township following the death of his father.

According to the City Charter all council members must live within the city limits.

Lehmann’s last day will be October 25th.

Escanaba’s city manager is also leaving his post.

Patrick Jordan has received an offer from Florida for a position there. He’s been with the city for the past two years.

Jordan is resigning effective December 1st. City officials have begun looking for his replacement.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
