Booster shots are now recommended for millions of Americans.

MARQUETTE, MI— The Marquette County Health Department has the updated, bivalent COVID-19 booster.

The department has appointments available starting this week for both Pfizer and Moderna.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends anyone 12 and older get the booster. It should be given at least two months after the second dose of the primary series or the last booster.

To schedule an appointment, call 906-475-7844.

Local pharmacies and providers may also stock the COVID booster. A list is on the Health Department website, at www.mqthealth.org.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
