UPDATE: Parts of Forsyth Township under boil water advisory

UPDATE, 2/12/26 4 PM— The boil advisory has been lifted. Forsyth Township water is now safe to drink.

FORSYTH TOWNSHIP, MI— Residents in Gwinn and Princeton are being told to boil their water due to an issue with the water system.

In a Facebook post, Forsyth Township officials said bacterial contamination may have occurred because of a drop in water pressure in the township water supply. It was caused by a controls system failure that happened Tuesday night.

While the water system issue has been resolved, residents are being asked to boil all water for one minute before using it to drink, make ice, brush their teeth, wash dishes, and prepare food. They may also use bottled water.

Water staff will continue to take samples from around the system and will let residents know when they no longer need to boil their water.
