Marquette County applicants sought for Habitat for Humanity homes

MARQUETTE, MI— Marquette County Habitat for Humanity is seeking new applicants for its 2022 New Construction Program.

For low- to moderate-income households, the program is open to families and individuals. If selected, each adult in the household is expected to contribute 250 hours of “sweat equity” by helping to construct the home. When it’s complete the partner family purchases the home with an affordable mortgage.

Officials say housing affordability is a key issue facing many households in Marquette County, and becoming a Partner Family with Habitat is one way to realize homeownership in an affordable way.

More information is available by calling 906-228-3578, or by going to www.mqthabitat.org/new-home-construction.
