Portage Health Foundation offering emergency services grants

HANCOCK, MI— Volunteer emergency services units in the Copper Country can now apply for a portion of $40,000 in grants from the Portage Health Foundation.

Providers like fire departments and first responders from Baraga, Houghton, Keweenaw or Ontonagon counties can get up to $5,000 per grant with a 50-percent match requirement.

To be considered for funding, the department must identify why the money is needed and how it will enhance access to services, programs, or activities that otherwise would not be possible.

The deadline to apply is May 18. More information is here.
