Grants now available for emergency services through Copper Shores

HANCOCK, MI— Copper Shores Community Health Foundation is offering Volunteer Emergency Services grants for the fourth year.

$50,000 is available for any governmental agency that provides volunteer emergency services in Baraga, Houghton, Keweenaw, and Ontonagon Counties. A maximum of $5,000 will be awarded, based on a 50-percent match of the project cost.

Copper Shores Grants Manager Mary Jo Munch says over the past few years, the grants have benefitted the region a great deal.

“In the past, we’ve actually granted more than $50,000 for that, so we have reached organizations within the four counties that we service.”

The application deadline is February 16th. More information is at www.coppershores.org/grants.
