HOUGHTON, MI— More closures are scheduled for the Portage Lake Lift Bridge between Houghton and Hancock next week.
The Michigan Department of Transportation has been making repairs to the bridge to keep it in good working condition.
Multiple test lifts are scheduled between 10 p.m. Tuesday and 5 a.m. Wednesday, and again from 10 p.m. Wednesday to 5 a.m. Thursday. They will last for about 10 minutes each.
The snowmobile trail on the lower deck of the lift bridge is scheduled to be removed for the season on Monday.
The work is weather dependent. The schedule is tentative and may be adjusted.
