ST. IGNACE, MI— The 200 millionth vehicle crossed the Mackinac Bridge on Wednesday.

Kurt Dalman and his family, of Tawas City, were northbound when they paid the toll at 6:18 p.m. Their Toyota Corolla hybrid became the 200 millionth to cross the Mighty Mac since its opening on November 1, 1957.

Members of the Mackinac Bridge Authority met the Dalmans on the toll plaza. They presented the family with a framed print of the bridge. Members of the Mackinaw City Chamber of Commerce and the St. Ignace Visitors Bureau gave them a gift basket full of local items.

The Dalmans were headed to Pictured Rocks for the kids’ first big hike.
