DELTA COUNTY, MI— The US-2 bridge over Portage Creek west of Escanaba has been repaired and the highway is now open to traffic.
The Michigan Department of Transportation says the detour was lifted just before 4 p.m. Monday after repaving was completed.
High water in the creek after recent rains damaged the east approach to the bridge and undermined the pavement. The road was closed beginning May 3rd while emergency repairs were made.
