LANSING, MI— The Michigan High-Speed Internet Office has awarded $857,909 to the Eastern Upper Peninsula Intermediate School District to expand access to fast internet.
The ISD is one of 13 organizations to receive nearly $10.6 million. They will serve as regional hubs providing digital skills training, device distribution programs, online accessibility, and access to affordable broadband service.
The Michigan Inclusive Training, Technology and Equity Network—or MITTEN—program aims to bridge the digital divide by establishing regional resource hubs to provide essential support for digital inclusion.
The initiative is rooted in community input gathered during a statewide MI Connected Future listening tour.
