Two MDOT projects set for May in Marquette County

MARQUETTE COUNTY, MI— The Michigan Department of Transportation is planning to start two projects in Marquette County this month.

About 11 miles of M-28 from US-41 to the Alger County line will be resurfaced. Work starts Monday and is expected to be completed in early July. Some of the work will be done at night.

A gravel lot on US-41 southeast of Lake Street in Marquette will be paved and turned into a carpool lot. The tentative start date is May 12. Work should be done by May 30.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
