MDOT offers 5-year transportation plan for public input

LANSING, MI— The Michigan Department of Transportation is asking people to comment on its Five-Year Transportation Program.

Last week, the State Transportation Commission approved the posting of the plan and interactive map on the MDOT website.

The 5YTP contains a list of planned projects for state-maintained roads, bridges and facilities, as well as information on public transportation, rail and aeronautics programs.

The plan is required to be delivered to the Michigan Legislature by March 1 each following calendar year, serves as a foundation for the biennial State Transportation Improvement Program, and aids in the development of the annual state budget.
