MSP posts collect more than 1,000 pounds of prescription drugs

IRON MOUNTAIN, MI--   The Michigan State Police Iron Mountain Post collected 42 pounds of prescription drugs during the recent National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day.

All 29 MSP posts in the state partnered with the Drug Enforcement Administration on April 30 to provide a safe, convenient, and responsible venue for the disposal of unwanted and unused drugs.  They collected a total of 1,189 pounds of prescription drugs.

Anyone who couldn’t participate in Drug Take-Back Day can dispose of their prescriptions drugs at any State Police post Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., excluding holidays. The service is free and anonymous with no questions asked.
