Forsyth Township looking for new police chief

FORSYTH TOWNSHIP, MI--   The Forsyth Township Police Chief has resigned.

WLUC-TV reports Chief Joe Fitzgerald made his resignation to the Forsyth Township board at a special meeting Tuesday afternoon. Fitzgerald did not say why he made that decision.

The board is interviewing candidates for the chief position.

Also at the meeting the board voted to increase supplemental officer pay from $15 to $20 an hour. And an incentive plan for new officers would offer a $5,000 stipend to be paid out over four years.
