Ishpeming asking for input on property use

upmatters.com

ISHPEMING, MI--   The City of Ishpeming’s Lake Bancroft Area Development Committee is looking for ideas from the public on how recently gifted property should be used.

A visioning session will be held to gather input on what should be done with Bancroft Park, the Cliffs Shaft Museum grounds, property at the corner of Spruce and Euclid Streets, and the Iron Ore Heritage Trailhead.

The session will be provided by MSU’s Sustainable Built Environment Initiative, which assists communities in addressing physical planning, design, and land use issues.  It offers a graphic process that gives residents a set of images and recommendations to guide improvements.

The visioning session will be held Tuesday, May 17 at 7 p.m. at the Ishpeming Senior Center.  To RSVP call 906-235-2923.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
