HOUGHTON/HANCOCK, MI— The Portage Lake Lift Bridge will experience closures early Thursday and Friday for equipment replacement.
Between 2 a.m. and 5 a.m., Michigan Department of Transportation workers will have to close the bridge to replace equipment on the north bridge tower.
The closures—expected to last about 30 minutes each—will result in delays for vehicle, pedestrian and bicycle traffic.
The schedule is tentative and may be adjusted.
