Northern Arts & Culture: Joe Pera talks with Marquette

Marquette Regional History Center

A chat with Joe about his August 27th Marquette Regional History Center fundraiser show

Prepare for cozy comedy from Joe Pera, in support of the Marquette Regional History Center.

As a part of his Summer in the Midwest & Rustbelt Tour, comedian Joe Pera will visit Marquette once again. His sold-out show at Kaufman Auditorium will bring laughs to the Fresh Coast, alongside openers Vincent Schultz, Raegan Niemela, and Kelly Keel, along with host Hunter Laing.

Joe is a standup comedian, writer, and filmmaker, who is well-known for his Adult Swim series, 'Joe Pera Talks With You.' The show is based around a fictional version of himself, a middle school choir teacher from the Upper Peninsula who enjoys rocks, breakfast, and other cozy comforts. He talks to the audience throughout his adventures, visiting familiar locations like Presque Isle, Sugarloaf Mountain, the Superior Dome and more.

Kurt Hauswirth spoke with Joe Pera by phone (or maybe it should be said that "Joe Pera speaks with Kurt") about his upcoming show and his connection with the Upper Peninsula:

Kurt lives in Marquette with his family and can’t imagine living anywhere else. He loves music, games, running, being near water, and a fine cold brew coffee.
