Learn about real-life princesses and Dr. Apgar, the two subjects of Carrie's latest children's books

Local Marquette children's author Carrie A. Pearson is telling the stories of women, and encourages readers to positively impact their community.

Carrie is the author such books as "Virginia Wouldn't Slow Down! The Unstoppable Dr. Apgar and her Life-Saving Invention" and "Real Princesses Change the World." These books introduce young readers to barrier-breaking real-world female role models who positively impact the world.

She is launching the Dr. Apgar book with an event at Peter White Public Library, which gives youth of all ages the opportunity to an interactive "Baby Doctor Clinic." Attendees will hear part of the book "Virginia Wouldn't Slow Down," and also engage in activities using the Apgar test, activities such as coloring, snack crafts, and more.
