MADISON, WI (AP)-- Wisconsin's Government Accountability Board says Governor Scott Walker's campaign has failed to provide employer information for nearly 6,000 contributors last year, the most of any campaign committee.
The board hasn't penalized Walker's campaign or any other committee that failed to report the missing information because officials say they have made efforts to comply with the law that requires the information.
The law directs campaigns to report the employer of donors who give more than $100 to a campaign committee during a calendar year. The State Journal reports the board began auditing the requirement in 2012 after several complaints were filed against committees over the missing information.
The Walker campaign was one of 29 committees that got a warning notice from the GAB in June for the missing information.
