Candidates in the final push to get out the vote before November 6

LANSING, MI (MPRN)--   In just a week, Michigan voters will pick a new governor, and Republican and Democratic candidates will be traveling the state as the clock ticks down to Election Day.

It’s all about keeping voter enthusiasm high. Democratic candidate Gretchen Whitmer has more than 70 campaign stops planned over the next few days.

“We must keep our foot on the gas,” she says.

And Republican candidate Bill Schuette says he’s got his own campaign stops planned.

“There’s no stopping us, this is about going forward.”

The candidates have brought in some heavy hitters to encourage people to vote. Vice President Mike Pence was in Michigan Monday to stump for Republican candidates. Former president Barack Obama was in Michigan last week, and his vice president, Joe Biden, plans to be in the state on Thursday.
