Energy town hall being held at Bay College this evening

ESCANABA, MI— State Senator Ed McBroom and Representatives Dave Prestin and Greg Markkanen are hosting an energy town hall in Escanaba Tuesday.

Recently signed legislation calls for Michigan to have a 100-percent clean energy standard by 2040.

The Republican lawmakers are concerned about the mandates. They’ll discuss the new laws and their potential impact on the U.P.’s energy, environment, economy, property rights, and local governments.

The meeting takes place at 5 p.m. in Room 952 of the Joseph Heirman University Center at Bay College.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
