UP airports to receive federal money

MARQUETTE, MI--   Houghton County Memorial Airport is getting $544,000 in federal funding to make improvements.

The grant comes from the Federal Aviation Administration and is supplemented by the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security—or CARES—Act. The money will be used for infrastructure improvements, including the construction of a taxi lane.

And two U.P. airports will benefit from grants from the Michigan PFAS Action Response Team. The Delta County Airport is getting $235,000 and Ford Airport in Dickinson County $250,000. The money will support monitoring and testing for

PFAS contamination.
