PORTAGE TOWNSHIP, MI--   A Luce County man has been killed in a single-vehicle accident in Portage Township.

The driver, identified as Ronald Wiegand, 64, of Curtis, was pronounced dead at the scene. No other people were in the vehicle.

Troopers say it’s unknown at this time if drugs or alcohol were involved in the accident.

The Portage Township Fire Department and EMS, Luce County Sheriff’s Office, and accident investigators from the Sault Ste. Marie and Gladstone Posts assisted at the scene.
