DCH COVID-19 test results negative so far

IRON MOUNTAIN, MI--   Dickinson County Healthcare System says it has tested 15 people for the coronavirus so far, and the three results that have come back are negative.

Hospital officials say increased testing statewide has slowed test turnaround time, but they will release results as they come in.

DCH has also temporarily suspended all non-essential procedures. That means a medical or dental procedure that is not necessary to address a medical emergency or to preserve the health and safety of a patient, as determined by a licensed medical provider.

Visitors have been restricted to one per patient and they must meet certain criteria.

The hospital has also installed health evaluation checkpoints at four entry points. A temperature reading will be taken. Anyone with a temperature of 100.4 or higher will not be permitted on the premises.

A COVID-19 hotline is in place to answer questions, seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The number is 906-776-5858.
