Driver falls asleep, causes crash in Sagola Township

SAGOLA TOWNSHIP, MI--   Authorities are blaming fatigue for a single-vehicle rollover crash in Dickinson County Sunday.

Michigan State Police from the Iron Mountain Post were dispatched to M-95 near Floodwood Road in Sagola Township. Troopers say the driver, Henry Sale of downstate Warren, admitted to falling asleep while driving. The northbound vehicle left the eastern side of the roadway, reentered the road and rolled over numerous times.

The driver was taken to Dickinson County Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. He was cited for careless driving.

The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office and Sagola Fire Department assisted at the scene.
