First coronavirus case reported in Luce County

LUCE COUNTY, MI--    The coronavirus has now been identified in Luce County.

The LMAS District Health Department was notified of the positive case Wednesday through Michigan Department of Health and Human Services testing.

The patient is an adult male. Health Department officials say they’re following case investigation guidance from the CDC and will follow up with anyone identified as a close contact with him. They will be assessed for symptoms and monitored.

It’s the first confirmed case in the four-county district and the third in the Upper Peninsula.

The Health Department urges residents to stay home and observe social distancing to keep themselves, and others, safe.
