HANCOCK, MI-- The Keweenaw Community Foundation says help is still available to those affected by Father’s Day flooding last year.
Officials say they’re working with community agencies and the United Methodist Committee on Relief in assisting those who may have fallen through the cracks. Two UMCOR Disaster Case Managers began their long-term recovery efforts in the Copper Country in October. They’ll work for a year to help those still dealing with unmet needs associated with losses due to the disaster. The goal is to get the household back to the condition it was prior to the flooding.
The Case Managers—Marci Vivian and Dennis Leopold—will connect the residents-in-need to appropriate organizations and walk them through their full recovery process.
Vivian and Leopold are based at the Huntington Bank building in Hancock. They can be reached at 906-231-6856.
