Florida resident dies in Marquette County crash

HUMBOLDT TOWNSHIP, MI--   One person was killed in a single-vehicle rollover crash in Humboldt Township Wednesday. 

Michigan State Police from the Negaunee Post say it happened around 12:20 p.m. on southbound US-41, about a half-mile west of the M-95 intersection.

The driver, a 69-year-old Florida resident, died at the scene.

The name of the driver is being withheld, pending notification of next of kin.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

The Marquette County Sheriff’s Office and Humboldt Township Fire Department assisted at the scene.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
